Dear Mr. Thomson
I do hope that you have heard of IAC's Aerobatic Mishap Review Committee.
The president and directors of IAC have made a clear statement to our
membership through Sport Aerobatics, and by the creation of AMRC, that
they are serious about mishap investigation. We on this committee review
every aerobatic mishap. We publish every NTSB report in Sport
Aerobatics. We have written over ten articles in the last year and a
half directed at the mishaps that we have reviewed. You may have read in
SA the 10 findings from our workshop on how to make IAC safer. As far as
presenting and dissecting our (IAC) mishaps, that day will come. BUT
when it does, the presentation will be informed, accurate, and
considerate to our "family". We have been in existence since January of
1997, since then we have compiled data on every mishap. This data will
be displayed in a Mishap Database that will be posted on our (IAC) web
site. Currently the NTSB is over 20 months behind in issuing their final
reports. We will publish findings and our discussions in SA on the IAC
member mishaps as the finals are released. Please remember we are
volunteers, and these investigations takes time. I encourage you, and
all, to join our forum on the first day of Oshkosh.

Bruce Johnson
Chairman IAC AMRC
