You -can- do acro with fuel in the wings... >But, our practice area is several minutes from the airport, and the acro >tank only holds about 10 gal. We'd like to come up with an easy way to fuel >the plane such that we end up with the acro tank full, and a predetermined >amount (probably between 5-10 gals) in the wing tanks. Buy a clear fueling gague (looks like a platic straw) dip it in the wing tank on each side, hold your finger on the top of it so it keeps the amount of fuel in the straw, pull it out, theres your fuel in the wing. I run about 7 gal's a side when doing acro. That will give you about 24 gals which you can fly a good hour flight if you lean it out to 18 or so. You can fly advanced maneuvers with the wings half full. It shouldn't hurt it. At least thats what I have been told by Walter and I been doing it for the last 2 years with no problems. -Edan
