By the amount of message traffic complaints from
the poor AOL users who get no mail, I think
all the non-AOL's ought to forward the desperate "please help" notes
to the AOL administrators complaint boxes to get this thing
fixed. It is obvious to me, anyway, that a large portion
of IAC contributors were from AOL and it is a shame some
nerd in the back room of AOL can't get his/her act together.
For cryin' out loud, this is not rocket science or flutter analysis!
Let's help these poor guys. Below are three addresses
that might be useful-

American On-Line

Stephen Case President and CEO stevecase at aol.com
Mike Connors President of System Technologies mconnors at aol.com

Corporate HQ # --703-448-8700

I suppose a response to Mark would be the best way to get this fix done.
Also, we should mention that no one is helping Mark from AOL even by the
courtesy of a return phone call. "Please return phone calls," would be a
starter. In case you don't have Marks address it's:
Dr. Mark A. Driver" <mdriver at harten.cbu.edu> at INTERNET

Dear Mark & Guenther,

Your efforts are very much appreciated; this must be very frustrating for
you. I hope these problems can be solved, and although I'd rather not have
to, I may end up cancelling my AOL account and transferring to another
service. I've come to depend on the information I receive here.

I've sent a copy of your letter, as well as my reply to Steve Case, CEO
of America OnLine. Perhaps if he is aware that AOL has been unresponsive to
our needs--and may lose accounts as a result, he may refer the problem to
someone who might be more willing to work with us. Can't hurt to try, anyway.

Sincerely,
Kathy Straub

Hi,

I think we need to do something about this problem. Makr Driver has handled
the
exploder very well and I want to thank him for his efforts. It seems as if
it is
not possible to adapt his current system to an exploder that can handle AOL.
 I
know it should be up to AOL to fix their problem, but they don't seem to be
willing to do so. We have such a large number of people on AOL that we have
to
make every effort to connect to them. Is there anybody in this group that
has a
Unix system that could run the exploder? It seems that the exploder on Unix
systems work OK. I can still not do it on my system, although something may
change in the near future.

Please check with your system people and management
whether you could help us all with such a system.

Guenther
