Hello there, If a non-member of foreign nationality and a long time airshow professional cannot post a message of condolence at such a tragic time then I would not wish to be a member of americal_aerobatics anyway. As Clark Gable said in "Gonw with the Wind" - "frankly my dear.....I couldn't give a damn...!!". Up yours....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As an airshow pilot now for 50 years this very week and with over 2,300 public airshow performances I have long had Jimmy as one of my personal airshow greats. I had never met him or Bobby but my son had seen them at a number of stateside airshows and had enthused on their fantastic showmanship. I have long held the opinion that the very art of the airshow pilot is to make the easy look difficult, the difficult look impossible and to leave the impossible to, in European terms, the Frecce Tricolori - the Italian national jet aerobatic team. I fear that 80% is all I ever strive for in airshows to leave me a good margin. I am certain Jimmy and Bobby had a similar approach but it looked to the crowd like they were giving 150% as indeed it should. I have a surplus of two in takeoffs versus landings in airshows, a statistic I can never reduce but do not intend ever to increase. I have had more than my fair share of luck over 50 years. For Jimmy and Bobby theirs ran out......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A huge tragedy for the world of airshows who will share your grief. The good Lord occasionally calls home the very best, much before their time. Never ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee. On behalf of my family I would like to offer our deepest sympathy at this sad time to the families and friends, so many friends, of Jimmy and Bobby.
