Hey Ed, How's it going down there? Any time you are rolling the mighty Super D below say 100, the ailerons get pretty wimpy. Practice rolling with minimal top rudder on the first half of the roll. If you use a slight hook (back and over instead of just across) on the stick, you will be able to get the nose to the proper high knife edge attitude with out using the rudder. Do not just pitch the nose up first. You must do it so the nose cone appears to travel in a half U shape up to knife edge. If you practice the little hook move and feather the back pressure to forward pressure just right, you will be on heading at knife edge. Then you just need top rudder as you push from knife edge to inverted to keep the nose on point. I visualize the nose cone as drawing a half U to knife edge, a horizontal line to inverted and then a mirror image coming out. Have the nose as High as it needs to be at knife edge, then you are just pushing to hold it there inverted. You should use this same motion on your 45 up line rolls and your split S. It is a great little technique that will save you some energy in all your rolls. Hope that helps. Adam Adam Cope www.dcaerobatics.com 703-623-9445
