I've made the mods from stock S-1S, Frieze ailerons, to symmetrical ailerons twice. It's a lot of work to be sure. Both times the ailerons were of my own design. Ailerons are a real bear to build. Building a new set of wings with the these mods is also a lot of work and it isn't alwasy that simple to "just" bolt on a new set of wings. With any mod there is the "just" word which is non-existant in aviation. As for aileron Gap Seals. If you have stock Frieze style ailerons all you need to do is tape the gap along the upper surface of the Gap. Use 3-M 191 clear tape. You can get it at hardware stores. For symmetrical ailerons it's a bit more work. I wrote an article for Sport Aerobatics on how to do this. The article is now in the IAC Technical Tips manuals. Good luck, Dan Rihn
