The only certified part (which I doubt is a factor for your S2S) is the Barry 96005, which Aviat OEM's as p/n 60012 and is the only supplier. However, I have been told that the Lord mount - which you must drill out the bolt hole on - lasts much longer. I'm sure someone here has the p/n handy. > Also about to pull the Christen inverted oil valve apart due to a slight > leak, any traps for the unwary? It's a pretty simple job, really. Just make sure you have new O-rings if it's leaking, and you don't nick the tapered fittings with the humongous wrench as you're r&r'ing the hoses. Remove the snap rings, take it apart and clean it with varsol and a toothbrush, and do the suction test as the 801 manual describes to check that your balls are seating. Ahem. Anyways, Lycoming has told me you should take it apart and clean it every 25 hours (!) which I suspect not many people do. Maybe Lycoming just thinks their customers might enjoy frequent suction tests to seat their balls .... :-) -- aboyd at pittspecials.com ATP www.pittspecials.com
