I would have said at one time that birds would never fly in clouds. BUT, one dark and rainy night in Detroit, we on final for 21L on the ILS in solid cloud and moderate rain. With the landing lights off, the visibility was about to the middle of the wing. At 300 above DA, we took a bird directly on the centerpost of the windshield in the trusty SAAB 340.
