Paul, If you already have a set of David Clarks check out: http://www.headsetsinc.com/ The best $169.00 you will ever spend! I have been using one for EIGHT years! Ken Stevens Pitts S1E ============================================================ From: "Paul Lopez" <plopez02 at tampabay.rr.com> Date: 2004/11/27 Sat PM 05:11:55 EST To: "new exploder" <acro at aerobaticsweb.org> Subject: [acro] ANR I recently purchased a pair of Lightspeed Thirty3G ANR headsets. I was interested in Denali ANR's but the dude at GulfCoast in Lakeland strongly recommended the Lightspeeds. They seemed to be quieter in their little set up at the shop. My first use was in a rented spam can, but before the flight at home I was setting them up and while adjusting them they squeaked out some nasty feed back in my right ear. (Feed back high pitch noise when a microphone gets too close to the output.) On the flight at power the headsets would make a loud growling noise. I tried them in my Pitts which has a 4 into 1 exhaust. Everything was fine through run up. Take off was awful, it would have been more comfortable having someone shoot a AK47 next to me ear. So I took them back to Gulfcoast and exchanged them for the same model thinking I had a defective pair. Not the case I flew the Pitts again today, and my ears are still ringing right now. (Any good attorneys out there?) These new Lightspeeds are obviously not built for truly noisy airplanes. Now I am back to my 20 year old DC's, but still want noise canceling headsets. My friend Randy said I am a cheap bastard and should just by the Boise. I ruled out Telex due to what I read in the exploder about mic problems. Then someone said the mics are an easy fix, but I am not Radio Shack geek and do want to bust out the soldering iron to fix something that should by right out of the box. So what about Denali? I don't know. Or should I stick with the DC's? "What" is currently the second most used word in my vocabulary anyway! Paul Lopez Pitts S1T What did you say? huh? ============================================================
