I had a similar experience when I first started using the Telex 50-D. Loud pops and static on take off and at times during flight. I took David B's advice and the Mic Muffs completely solved the problem. I've used both the Bose and the Telex and my feeling is that the Telex is a little more quiet than the Bose and better for aerobatics. Wes Jones N370BF S2-C In a message dated 11/27/2004 6:55:52 PM Eastern Standard Time, Davlen12 at AOL.COM writes: In my experience, the passive noise cancelling feature of the mike can be "overrun" by the high db in a Pitts...especially when using ANC headsets....making them worthless. Oregon Aero sells a simple little leather cover, called a MicMuff, that solves the problem for $12. Read about it here, http://www.oregonaero.com/p5657_2001.html and price list here: http://www.oregonaero.com/p6465_2001.html. D. Brandon N556DB Attachement 1: part2.html
